A Few Reminders Before The First Day

Hello!

It was wonderful to meet so many of you at Great Start Conferences. Thank you for making the time to do so. I hope that you and your student enjoyed checking out our classroom and the rest of the school.

I can't believe we are ready for another school year! Summer went by quickly but I am excited to fill our classroom with ready to learn and grow third graders.

School starts on Wednesday. The front doors will be open at 7:30am .  Students should be to their classroom by 7:40 am. They are welcome to get free breakfast on their way to our room.

Here are a few other reminders as we start our school year:

First Day of School Videos
Mrs. Naramore, another 3rd grade teacher, created these 2 short videos for all 3rd graders to watch before the first day of school, so that they can see how to get to all of the 3rd grade classrooms. Please watch one of these videos with your child before Wednesday to help them feel more comfortable about coming in to school and finding their way.

Snack

Please send a healthy snack daily with your child. Students will be having milk/snack break daily at 9:15am. Each morning students are able to choose if they will have milk with snack and which flavor they will have. Your student’s lunch account will be charged accordingly when they choose to get milk for snack. The cost is 35 cents per milk.

Water Bottles

If possible, please send in a water bottle with your child to use throughout the day at school. Currently, for safety reasons, water fountains cannot be used, but water bottles can be refilled in our classroom and at water bottle filling stations throughout the school.

Extra Masks

If possible, please send in extra masks for your student in case they need a new one throughout the school day.

Gym Shoes
Our class has gym class almost every day. Please make sure your child has tennis shoes they can wear for gym class. If you are able to leave a pair at school, that is great, if not, please have your child wear them daily. Thank you!

Dismissal
Our school day ends at 2:40 pm.

Read Aloud
If your student hasn't done so yet, and would like to, they can click here to listen to our first class read aloud.
